Her career in journalism began with Myrtle Beach South Carolina as a news reporter and anchor with WPDE-TV. In the following years, she worked as a morning news anchor and the crime reporter at WCBD TV. O'Dell's reporting on the lax responses of police officers to DUI cases in Charleston led to an investigation by State Law Enforcement Division, which resulted in a new direction from the state authorities on DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell received recognition from her colleagues at the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year Award all media South Carolina. O'Dell was a reporter and anchor for a time at Charleston as a reporter and anchor at NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV station prior to moving into Access Hollywood where she is currently a co-anchor and correspondent on weekends. O'Dell is a leading anchor at Access Hollywood. In addition she has contributed to NBC News Today and Dateline NBC. She has co-hosted a variety of Pre-ShowArrivals programs for The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. Her other co-hosting credits include Miss USA, the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
